NORMAN, Okla. – The Methodist University men's golf team has ranked eighth in the nation from the most recent NCAA Division III Bushnell/Golf Week Coaches' Poll as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America offices on Friday afternoon.  
 
The Monarchs held strong throughout the NCAA Preview, finishing T-7th out of 18 of the best teams in the nation, who gained an early look at the 2027 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship site at Kingsmill Resort on the River Course. Senior Todd Moyer and freshman Griffin Lawlor landed back-to-back USA South Golfer and Rookie Golfer of the Week honors, respectively, after their stellar outings this past Monday through Tuesday. Lawlor fired a 71-74-74-219 (+6) for T-45th overall. Moyer would log a career-best 54-hole score of 72-65-71-208 (-5) for his second collegiate-career top five placement in T-5th and a career 18-hole low of 65 (-6) in round two.
 
The champions of the 2026 NCAA Preview, Huntingdon College ranks out atop the poll with 394 total points, with 11 first place votes, followed by Kenyon College in second, holding 361 total points to their name. Emory University rounds out the top three with 353 total points, while the defending national champion, Claremont Mudd-Scripps, marks in fourth place with 343 total points, with five first place votes. Illinois Wesleyan University wrapped up the top five, collecting 341 total points overall.
 
Methodist is back in action at the Tartan Invitational, hosted by No. 6 nationally ranked Carnegie Mellon University on Monday, October 12th through Tuesday, October 13th at Laurel Valley Country Club in Ligonier, Pa.
