In the second race of the morning, Monarch freshman Andrew Topoly placed second overall in the men's 8K race. He and his teammates finished second overall, just three points shy of the team champions from North Carolina Wesleyan University.

  • Lawler finished with a 48-second cushion over Drumm, who ended with a 35-second advantage over N.C. Wesleyan's Tonon.
  • Topoly paced the leaders for more than half of the men's 8K, but early in the final mile was passed by both Harney and Hayes. Over the last half mile of the race, however, Topoly reeled in and passed Hayes, but was not able to finish the rally against Harney, finishing just six seconds behind the race winner.
