SANDESTIN, Fla. The number two ranked Methodist University men's golf team was back it for the second round of the 2023 GolfWeek Fall Preview on Monday. The Monarchs posted the lowest team score on the day, a three-over par 287, to jump into the top spot with a two-day score of 566 (+3).

DAY 2 NOTES
- Cappuzzo is still in a tie for second place after scoring an even-par 71 in round two. An early double bogey was negated by three birdies on the front half of the course but two bogeys and an additional birdie on the back half evened out his scorecard.
- Also tied for second, Cooper Hrabak shares the same spot as Cappuzzo following a great round, where he shot a five-under par 66. His first nine saw him go even-par with two bogeys & birdies each. He then teared up the back nine by making five birdies.
- Caleb Ryan posted a three-over par 74 during his second trip around the course, which moved him up four spots into a tie for 37th. Three bogeys and one birdie had him at two-over through his first nine holes. He followed that up with two bogeys and a birdie to go one-over across his last nine.
- Aiden Spampinato had a tough second round, ten-over par 81, to knock him down into a tie for 63rd. He went five-over on each side of the course as his card registered seven bogeys, two double bogeys, and a birdie.
- Jonny Lewis fared better in round two, five-over par 76, and jumped four places, T-111th, in the player's leaderboard. His 18-hole scorecard had just four blemishes, three bogeys and a double bogey.
UP NEXT
Methodist will look to hang onto first place in the final round of the tournament on Tuesday. The Monarchs are scheduled to tee off at 9:30 a.m.
