LIGONIER, Pa. The No. 2 ranked Methodist University men's golf team played the first two rounds of the Tartan Invitational on Monday. After shooting 13-over par 301 in the opening round, the Monarchs then recorded a second round score of even-par 288 to give them total of 13-over par 589, which places them in first place among 15 teams.

DAY 1 NOTES
- Cappuzzo scored an even-par 144 following his first two rounds and is just two strokes behind the individual leader, in second place. He shot back-to-back 72s with three birdies and three bogeys in each round.
- David D'Agostino and Haden Ruby are both tied for fifth place with scores of four-over par 148. D'Agostino had some struggles during his first trip around the course, as he posted a six-over par 78, but bounced back nicely with a two-under par 70 in round two.
- The second round saw Ruby card a one-over par 73 after shooting a three-over par 75 in the opening round.
- In a tie for ninth, Cooper Hrabak recorded a five-over par 149. He scored a four-over par 76 in the first round before following that up with a one-over par 73 in round two.
- Aiden Spampinato, who is in a tie for 18th place, completed his first two rounds with a total score of eight-over par 152. Round one saw his post a score of six-over par 78 and then a two-over par 74 after his second round.

Methodist will finish up the event on Tuesday with the final round starting off at 8:15 AM.
