Hogge was not only instrumental in setting the course for Methodist's unequaled national success in women's golf (25 national titles), but also in the development of the institution's Professional Golf Management (PGM) program.

Monarch team's under Hogge's direction captured NGCA (combined D-II and -III) national titles in 1988 and 1989 and finished as the national runner-up in 1990. His squads were so successful that the teams from 1986 through 1989 were inducted as one group into the Methodist Athletics Hall of Fame. They accumulated 11 All-American honors over that three-year span, with Hall of Fame member Kristina Kavanagh winning the national individual medalist honor in 1988 and teammate Holly Anderson earning an Academic All-America honor that same season.

During Hogge's time leading the program, four of his golfers would go on to be inducted into the MU Athletics Hall of Fame.

Enticed to Methodist by the prospect of heading its PGM program, Hogge served as its Director and spearheaded the construction of its own building and on-campus golf course, and to national accreditation in 1999. A myriad of his PGM graduates have gained professional golf positions across the country, and his dedication to golf within the state earned Hogged induction into the Carolinas PGA Hall of Fame in 2019.
